As our Lord, Jesus Christ compelled us to love one another as He loved us, your Knights of Columbus Council is again taking action to live out that love by helping persecuted Christians.  Our Christian brethren in the Middle East continue to be murdered and driven from their ancestral homes solely because of their faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is genocide perpetrated against peaceful people while the world largely continues to stand by and does nothing.  Which is why we are now humbly begging for your help by requesting the following:  We will be collecting donations for Christian refugees at our Sunday, November 6, 2016 pancake breakfast (9:30 am-11 am).  We will not collect any entrance fee.  Instead, we ask that you make as generous a financial donation at the breakfast as you may be able to afford. Our Council will accept cash and checks (please make checks payable to Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc. – Memo line: Christian Refugee Relief).  If you are unable to attend the pancake breakfast, please send a contribution care of our Council’s financial secretary, Martin Waelder 5118 East 98th Street, Tulsa, OK 74137.  All profits from the pancake breakfast will be donated to the Christians at Risk effort organized by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council.  As this is a matter of life and death for persecuted Christians, we exhort you to sacrifice and give whatever amount you may be able to afford.  No amount is too small to help.  In all cases, we should and must keep our Christian brothers in our prayers.  As God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble, let us serve Him by now uniting in charitable action.  Vivat Jesus!
