Father Sherry grew up in Holy Angles Parish in Aurora, Illinois, and attended St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana and St. Paul Seminary in Minnesota. Ordained in 1966 as a priest for the Diocese of Rockford he earned a Masters in Religious Education in 1975 from Loyola University in Chicago and a Doctor of Ministry in 1985 from St. Mary of the Lake University in Illinois.


Founder and Pastor of the Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry, IL between 1989 and 2012, he described his parish as “a family of compassionate people sharing God’s love” resulting in a remarkable outreach to St. Vincent dePaul Society, Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.


His mantra Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given you besides” followed by, Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work for good for those who love God. Father Sherry is excited to spread that compassion and love still farther with Cross Catholic Outreach.
