Tour of Holy Family Cathedral
Did you know that Tulsa’s historic Holy Family Cathedral features a high altar, one of the tallest of its kind in the United States? Have you seen the cathedral’s side altars dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph? Or the vaulted ceiling, or the pipe organ, or the detailed stenciling? Please make plans to attend the guided tour arranged by St. Bernard’s ACTS Core on Sunday, June 5, beginning at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome. The tour will explain the architectural and symbolic significance of the cathedral’s design all the way from its cornerstone up to its three spires representing the Trinity. We’ll also learn about the extensive renovation that began in 2008.
At 4:30 pm, the designated Holy Door at the cathedral will be opened, presenting the opportunity to pass through the door for a plenary indulgence as part of the extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy. Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 5 pm.
We will meet downtown (Eighth Street and Boulder Avenue) for this event. Holy Family Cathedral -- the mother church of the Diocese of Tulsa – belongs to all Catholics in eastern Oklahoma. Mark your calendars for June 5!
