Please take note of a special spiritual enrichment opportunity Saturday, May 13, at St. Bernard’s Church in tribute to Our Lady of Fatima. What better way to begin Mother’s Day Weekend than to honor our Blessed Mother?
Mary first appeared to three young children in Fatima, Portugal, on May 13, 1917, with an urgent message: Pray for sinners, pray for conversion, pray the rosary daily. On the 100th anniversary of the first Fatima apparition, we will gather as a parish family to honor Mary’s Immaculate Heart and to put her message into practice. The activities are geared to help St. Bernard’s parishioners to better understand and promote the lessons of Fatima. The program includes:
Mass at 8:30am in the church
Gathering after Mass in room G8 for a light breakfast
A Fatima overview, music, and discussion
An EWTN documentary that features eyewitness testimony, movie scenes, historical footage, and information on the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II’s life on May 13, 1981
A group rosary outside (weather permitting)
Kids’ activities in room G6, for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. An animated Fatima film will be shown, along with exploration of the Joyful Mysteries. Please RSVP for children attending to firstname.lastname@example.org so that organizers can plan for art materials and helpers.
Ending time will be at about 11:30am.
The event at St. Bernard’s is sponsored by the Legion of Mary and ACTS. Please join us as we pray for world peace, for reparation of sins, and in solidarity with Our Lady of the Rosary, who taught us: O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
