CELEBRATION OF FATIMA ANNIVERSARY
On May 13, 1917, the Blessed Mother appeared for the first time to three shepherd children near Fatima, Portugal. Her message? Pray the rosary for world peace. In honor of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima apparitions, St. Bernard’s is planning a special program in room G8 following the 8:30am Mass on Saturday, May 13. The entire parish is invited to join in as we pray a rosary and watch an EWTN documentary. The documentary features interviews from people who witnessed the Fatima miracles, along with footage from World Wars I and II, as well as tie-ins to the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II’s life on May 13, 1981. Children are encouraged to attend too, for crafts and an animated Fatima movie of their own in room G6. The Legion of Mary and St. Bernard’s ACTS are sponsoring this event. Please make plans to bring the whole family for a light breakfast, a group rosary, and discussion of Mary’s still-relevant instruction to pray for an end to war.
