KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY

The Oklahoma Kairos Prison Ministry team is presenting a Kairos retreat weekend inside the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing, April 11 thru 14.  The Kairos Ministry Team is asking for your prayers and “cookie” support. A kiosk is set up in the Commons Area so that you can stop by and sign your name on the slips of paper that will be made into a Prayer Chain.  Please sign one slip of paper for each of the four days of the retreat.  MOST importantly, we ask you to pray for the inmates and the team members each of the four days.  Cookie donations can be placed in the two large boxes.  We  need LOTS of cookies. Our  goal is to collect 7,000 dozen cookies to take to the prison. That equates to about 200 dozen cookies per team member.  On Friday and Saturday of the retreat, each inmate in the prison (1700-1800 men) will receive a dozen cookies, compliments of the Kairos prison ministry and your generosity.  The cookies MUST be “store bought” and sealed in their original packaging.

To offset the cost of the weekend, we are selling “meal tickets” for $10.00 each.  Meal tickets are placed at the table for each of the 42 retreat participants signifying that you have purchased their meal.  Perhaps that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but for them, it certainly is!  A member of the Kairos ministry team is in the Commons Area this weekend so that you may purchase tickets.  St. Bernard’s is most generous supporting the Kairos prison retreat weekends.   The Kairos Prison Ministry thanks you and asks for your continuing generous support.  Jesus said, “As you did it  for the least of one of my brothers, you did for me.”
