November Classes

Evangelization and the Church

“The joy of the Gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus.”  This course will focus on the three modes of evangelization, Ad Gentes, the New Evangelization, and pastoral care, with a focus on how the laity participates in spreading the joy of the Gospel through everyday evangelization.

Day & Time: Monday, November 5, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Instructor:  Gerald Murphy, M.A.

Location:  Aquinas Hall, Church of the Madalene


Lectio Divina

This class will be an introduction to Lectio Divina or “sacred reading” as a form of devotion and a way to strengthen our prayer life through the use of the written word in Sacred Scripture.

Day & Date: Wednesday, November 7

Time:  6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Instructor: Joey Spencer, M.T.S.

Location: St. Anthony’s Parish, Okmulgee


St. Hildegard Von Bingen

On October 7, 2012 St. Hildegard of Bingen was named a Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XVI, in large part because of her profound writings on the mystery of Mary and the Virgin Birth.  This class will be offered in anticipation of Advent as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Day & Time: Mondays, Nov 12, 19, 26 & Dec 3, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
