Pastoral Ministry Degree (30 hours)
Newman University, in cooperation with the Pastoral Studies Program, offers this degree in Pastoral Ministry for adults in the Diocese of Tulsa. Individuals who already have one bachelor’s degree can take the required thirty (30) hours of theology course work and receive a second bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry.
THEO 1013: New Testament Literature
This course focuses on the literature, theology, and history of the New Testament. Students will explore questions of authorship and critical methods of biblical interpretation from within the perspective of faith. Jesus’ question, addressed to his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” provides the theological center of New Testament studies and the grounding for Christology, Ecclesiology, and Morality.
