St. Nicholas would be proud...
One grandmother, who is caring for her 8 grandchildren, had a ticket to come to the sign up events, but due to a funeral of a loved one, was unable to attend. She thought that she wouldn't be able to receive toys for the children, and was so gracious when we told her that we would be able to provide the toys. St. Bernard PreSchool took the whole family and went above an beyond, providing wonderful toys for each of the children and even a gift card for Grandma.

Beyond the blindness
Ted Hinson, the author of “Beyond the Blindness,” will join the Clairvaux Club book review on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room. Mr. Hinson, a parishioner at Christ the King Church, writes an inspirational story of the faith and positive outlook that sustains him through adversity since losing his sight in 1986. A discussion facilitated by his sister, Tonya Marlow is planned. Buy your copy of “Beyond the Blindness” for $14.95 through the book’s Facebook page, or at the Catholic Book and Gift Store. Dinners for Eight
This is the last weekend to sign up for Dinners for Eight in the Commons or email coordinators, Marcia or John Kapura at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Eight people take turns hosting a dinner once a month for four months.

The Tulsa March for Life
The 9th Annual Tulsa March for Life will take place on January 14th, 2018 at 1pm, starting from Holy Family Cathedral. Abby Johnson, former Director of a Planned Parenthood facility, will join us as we testify to the beauty of life and peacefully protest the greatest human rights violation of our time, legalized abortion on demand. Bishop David Konderla will offer Mass at Holy Family Cathedral at Noon.

SECOND COLLECTION: The second collection at the Christmas Masses will be for the Priests’ Retirement Fund for the Diocese of Tulsa. This will be our chance to show our appreciation for the priests who have given a life of service to the Catholic people of eastern Oklahoma
Support the Teen ACTS ministry by attending their “Soup and Salad” fund raiser after the 5:00 PM Mass on Saturday December 16th.
SECOND COLLECTION: The second collection this weekend is for the Retirement Fund for religious sisters, brothers and religious order priests.
CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE: Our Christmas Adopt-a-Family project is underway! We will be supplying food to Catholic Charities for distribution to the needy just before Christmas. The cost of a holiday meal for the average family is $35 to $40, but any donation will be appreciated. Please make checks payable to St. Bernard’s Christmas Meal and mail them before December 13th to Deacon Sullivan at the parish, 4001 E. 10st St., 74137. You can also put your donation in an envelope marked to Deacon Sullivan’s attention in the collection basket at Mass.
PARISH PENANCE SERVICE
On Thursday, December 14, we will have the Advent Penance Service. We will have 10 priests in the church hearing confessions starting at 7:00 p.m. until we are finished. Make it a family event. Bring everyone to church and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
