ARTICLE I-NAME
Section I-This club shall be known as The Clairvaux Club.
ARTICLE II-PURPOSE
Section I-The purpose of this club is to promote a spirit of parish community, plan parish social functions, and enable a variety of apostolic works in the name of the parish.
ARTICLE III-MEMBERSHIP
Section I-The membership is comprised of all women belonging to St. Bernard’s Parish.
ARTICLE IV-OFFICERS AND DUTIES
Section 1-The officers of this club shall be: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. They shall be elected for one year at the November meeting. (The nominating committee will be appointed by the President to select a slate of candidates. Nominations for candidates can be given to the committee). They shall have the privilege of running for election of the same office for two consecutive terms.
Section 2-Vacancies may be filled by the Executive Board.
Section 3-The President shall preside at all meetings of the Club and of the Executive Board, shall appoint chairmen of standing and special committees, and shall represent the Club at all times.
Section 4-The Vice-President shall assume the duties of the President in her absence, and shall be a member of the Program Committee. The Vice-President will assume the office of the President the following year.
Section 5-The Secretary shall record and transcribe the minutes of the regular meetings and shall handle all correspondence.
Section 6-The Treasurer shall be in charge of club funds, shall compile and present a financial report at each regular meeting and shall pay all the bills as approved by the President or the Executive Board. She is also a member of the Disbursement Committee.
ARTICLE V-MEETINGS
Section 1-Regular meetings shall be held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Section 2-Special meetings may be called by the President.
ARTICLE VI-EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section 1-The elected officers, the committee chairs, and immediate past president shall constitute the Executive Board.
ARTICLE VII-COMMITTEES AND DUTIES
Section 1-Program Committee will aide the Vice-President in selecting speakers and programs for the meetings.
Section 2-Spiritual Committee will support the club’s journey toward God, our pilgrimage of faith
Section 3-Service Committee will encourage service project participation by the club membership and promote activities that are aligned with Catholic social teaching.
Section 4-The Historian will be responsible for compiling a scrapbook.
Section 5-Social Committee will plan and execute all social functions as needed for the Clairvaux Club and St. Bernard's Parish.
Section 6-Ways and Means committee will seek, select, prioritize and manage Clairvaux Club fundraising activities.
Section 7-Hospitality committee will welcome all guests, provide an atmosphere of good fellowship, and be responsible for refreshments at monthly meetings and selected special events as requested by the board.
Section 8-Publicity committee will promote the club’s activities by collecting information about upcoming club events and spreading that news in an accurate, timely, and appealing fashion through church bulletins, Mass announcements, and other methods.

Section 1-This constitution may be amended by a majority vote.
